Chiropractic care addresses musculoskeletal system and nervous system disorders. Bodily disorders that can cause chronic pain, discomfort, and a series of other negative health effects. Chiropractic care starts with a conversation about the patient’s reason for visiting the chiropractor’s office and if they are experiencing any pain or want to focus on a particular body part or area. The chiropractor will then conduct a few physical tests to ascertain the condition of the patient’s body and to help them understand what systems are in or out of alignment and what systems could be causing resistances or pain in the body. The chiropractor then has a multitude of methods and techniques available for correcting body parts that have been forced out of alignment or are causing pain and discomfort due to pressure and internal resistances. A crucial aspect to chiropractic care is realigning the body so that musculoskeletal and/or nervous system body parts are not straining under undue pressure. Over years of wear and tear, body parts can be pinched, stressed, tweaked, swollen, and in pain due to repetitive movements or a single movement, even if it was years ago. Chiropractors can help ease the body back into alignment to correct musculoskeletal issues and reduce pressure on the nervous system. If a nerve is pinched by a bone or ligament that is misaligned or swollen the pain can be difficult to pinpoint and may only occur during certain movements, but rather than living with constant pain or aching joints you can regularly visit a chiropractor to receive consistent treatment towards fixing the problem.
Chiropractic care is an excellent treatment plan for traumatic injuries (new or old), and for pain or injury caused from routine movements. Tissue injury can be painful or painless, however the symptoms of tissue injuries or the core tissue injury itself may be causing secondary physical issues that can negatively affect your health and well-being. As a holistic treatment, chiropractic care can become a weekly or a monthly treatment plan depending on the severity of the underlying conditions or it can be a single realignment session. This is based on the results of the examination and the first treatment session.
